TURF PESTS: ARMY WORMS CUT WORMS

Back

Cutworms are moth  caterpillars  such as Agrotis sp.

These caterpillars chew off young plants just above the ground and can be highly destructive. Golf courses and sport fields are especially attractive places for females to lay eggs, and for the caterpillars to feed. They can damage turf grass by eating above ground plant tissue at night.

DAMAGE:

Dry spots on the lawn: an indication that the worms are active.

SOLUTION:

Treatment with Nematodes Steinernema carpocapsae, Steinernema feltiae, Natusys.

WHEN:

Spring: Nematodes Steinernema carpocapsae together with Natusys

Autumn: Nematodes Steinernema carpocapsae together with Natusys

Winter: Nematodes Steinernema feltiae together with Natusys

Investigate the presence of worms first before starting treatment!
